Sardar Hussain takes oath as MPA

PESHAWAR, April 24: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) newly-elected lawmaker from PK-90 Chitral-II, Sardar Hussain, on Wednesday took oath as member of the provincial assembly. oath copyDeputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi, who was chairing the session administered him oath. The speaker gave him the floor after he asked for the chair’s permission to address the house after taking oath. Sardar Hussain thanked the judiciary and the election tribunal for doing justice to him and that he managed to reach the house after a lengthy struggle and court battles. He also expressed his gratitude to the people of the area, leadership and cadres of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUIF), Jamaat Islami (JI), Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) for backing him in his re-election. Sardar told the house that they did not believe in leg-pulling. “It does not matter for public when we approach them for reelection that how much we cry at the floor of house or quarrel with each other,” he said, adding that people expect politicians to work for their welfare. Interestingly, Sardar also offered rare praise for the PTI and said that some benefit of its educational and health policies were trickling to people of remote areas. However, at the same time, he also criticized government policies including National Testing Service (NTS) examination, saying hundreds of people from his constituency traveled to Peshawar to take this test, but nothing has come out of it so far. He also criticized delays in starting development projects in the district. PPP lawmaker Nighat Orakzai thanked voters of PK-90 for electing her party candidate in the elections.]]>
