Chitrali women paid tributes for valuing education

BOONI, March 24: A colourful programme was organized at the Government Girls Degree College Booni on March 23 to mark the Pakistan Day. studentsfThe college organized the programme in collaboration with SRSP and subdivisional administration of Booni. Students from various educational institutions of subdivision Mastuj, including Pamir Public School and College, Oxford School and College, Pearl School and Degree College, Space Era Public School Booni and Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Kuragh, participated in the programme. A large number of ladies from adjacent villages also participated. Mehrun Nisa, head mistress Government Girls High School Booni, was the president and Minhasuddin, Assistant Commissioner Subdivision Mastuj, was the chief guest. The girl students from various schools and colleges mesmerized the audience by their brilliant performance in tableau, national songs, bait bazi and thought provoking speeches. Addressing the participants, Mehrun Nisa, the chair of the programme, said women constituted almost 50% of the total population of the country, so their responsibility is huge. The country would not keep pace with the fast developing world unless women contribute their hundred percent in the development of the country. She stressed upon the girl students to give first priority to their character building because it is the girls who raise up a family and family is a fundamental unit of a society. She further said that Chitral could become a role model for the entire country as its females are highly educated and well equipped to face the challenges of 21st century. She added by arranging such programs we can inculcate the sense of patriotism in our young generation. femalesSpeaking on the occasion the chief guest lauded the efforts of the principal, faculty members and students of GGDC Booni for arranging such a magnificent programme. He announced to install a water pump in the college premises to solve the problem of water shortage and also announce to give a Solar plate to the college to mitigate the problem of frequent power outage. He also promised to instruct the forest department to grow a botanical nursery in the college. He said the efforts and devotion of the principal and other faculty members of the college deserved appreciation as they were striving hard to kindle the light of education in the area. Addressing the gathering district Community Livelihood officer Samina Sabir thanked the college administration and Assistant Commissioner for their all-out cooperation in organizing the gathering. She said whenever they needed support or guidance from the Assistant Commissioner he readily provided it to them. At the end, Haseena Wajid, Principal GGDC Booni, thanked all the participants.]]>
