Seminar on youth development, opportunties and challenges held

KARACHI, Feb 18: In today’s globally and technologically revolutionized world, proper guidance of youth is the need of the time. In this regard a seminar on ‘Youth Development: Opportunities and Challenges’ was held at AKU-IEd auditorium Karimabad by ‘Chitral Student & Social Welfare Association’ (CSSWA) Karachi. Two guest speakers were invited to this seminar: Dr. Mir Afzal Tajik who is currently working as the head of the institute of AKU-IED and Associate Pro. Hakim Shah from Dow University Karachi. A large number of educated youths (male and female) from Chitral and Gilgit-Bsltistan attended the seminar. General Secretary Mr. Ali Fateh performed the stage responsibilities. Dr.Mir Afzal Tajik talked on the various aspects of the personality development i.e. physical, social, mental/intellectual and ethical development. He said that mere intellectual/educational development is not the guarantee to be the good citizen of any country or society rather we should focus on holistic development of the personality of an individual. He advised the youths that as long as they are out of their home town they should get maximum benefits from the opportunities they have here in Karachi and they should also concentrate on confident building and skills development. Professor Hakim Shah put more emphasis on the opportunities and career selection. He said that youth need to be very focused and purpose oriented in their careers, every individual youth should make a clear target in his/her life and should also set certain principles to live his/her life. He asked the participants to prepare themselves for IELTs, GRE and NTS tests as well, so that they could easily qualify for scholarship programmes and higher studies. After the presentations the president of the CSSWA, Mr Sher Jahan briefly discussed the role, initiatives and achievements of the association since its establishment and thanked the audience. At the end, the chief guest of the programme Mr hazrat uddin delivered his short speech and appreciated the efforts of the association. Both speakers too really appreciated the efforts and initiatives of the CSSWA and assured their cooperation and support in future as well. The seminar was ended followed by light refreshment.]]>
