CHARUN, Feb 19: The Youth Club of Charun organized a winter ‘hoot’ volleyball and Kerumboard tournament which concluded in Charun on Wednesday.
The final match was played between the Awi and Charun teams in which the latter outclassed the former by winning three games out of five. During the weeklong matches, volleyball teams from Awi, Booni, Bumbagh Kosht, Charun, Charun-Ovir, Kuragh, Mroi, Barenis, Reshun also participated.
AC Mastuj subdivision Minhasuddin chaired as Chief Guest accompanied with Muhammad Saleh AAC Mastuj and Noor Hussain (rted) Subedar Chitral Scouts presided over the concluding ceremony of the tournament. While speaking on the occasion the AC Mastuj thanked the elders of Charun and suburbs for giving it a colour, organizers’ to conduct and players for playing with sportsmanship and all onlookers to give it a success.
“I have observed talent and interest subsist here. To provide for district government for playing in Swat and Shangla, we will get names from those who outperformed here and other tournaments which the Tehsil Administration is planning to organise soon, he said. He said the government had taken an initiative for the construction of a stadium, we have forwarded identified suitable place for its construction; is recent good news’ he also added.
President Noor Hussain while speaking on the occasion thanked the administration for attending the final match on the cloudy and cold season and let the matches keep on continue and SHO Mastuj with his contingent, organizers, players’ and onlookers for their support and cooperation. ‘We will continue to cooperate with Tehsil Administration to keep law and order and development to prevail in the region’ he said.
The concluding ceremony concluded with the distribution of shields and trophies to the winner, runner up teams, best players and umpires of volleyball and Karemboard by the guests.
