JUI asks Jamaat-e-Islami Chitral to remain in limits
DROSH, Feb 6: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chitral has condemned a resolution passed by Jamaat-e-Islami Chitral criticizing Maulan Fazlur Rehman’s role as the chairman of the parliament’s Kashmir committee.
At a public gathering organized in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 in Chitral, the JI resolution said JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman did nothing for the cause of Kashmir except holding the office for enjoying the perks and facilities at state expense.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, JUI Chitral secretary general Maulana Abdul Shakoor said: “The party of Maudoodi should remain in limits. It will not be allowed to try to heap dust on the most popular leader of the Islamic world.” He said the Maudoodi party was adopting such a tone against the JUI chief at the behest of those through which it was sharing power in KPK.
He said Maulana Fazal was the chairman of the Kashmir committee, not the foreign minister, and in this capacity he was discharging his responsibilities in an effective manner. During his recent visit to India’ Maulana Fazal also took up the issue of Kashmir with the Indian prime minister and other leaders. He said the JUI would continue working for the rights of the people of Kashmir.]]>
