40 poets, writers from Chitral to visit Islamabad

Zakir Zakhmee[/caption] ISLAMABAD, Jan 27: About 40 poets, writers and literary personalities from different parts of Chitral will arrive in Islamabad on February 1 to attend a week-long programme. The Khowar writers, who are the members of the Qalam Qabila literary organization, will be headed by noted poet Zakir Zakhmee and attend an ‘Islamic orientation’ programme at the Dawa Academy of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) from February 2 to 8. During their stay in the federal capital, the Chitrali poets will also attend a Khowar Mushaira and give interviews to different media organizations. It is perhaps for the first time that such a large number of Khowar writers will be attending a prgramme together in Islamabad. Inayatullah Aseer, another Chitrali literary figure who was in the forefront in organizing the event, appreciated the management of the Dawa Academy for providing an opportunity to the writers of the Khowar language to attend the programme and interact with people from different walks of life.]]>
