DROSH, Jan 24: Hundreds of people belonging to different political parties in the Damel village of Arandu announced their decisions to join Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chitral, says a press release issued by the JUI on Friday. In this regard, a conference, “Message of Jamiat” was organized at the Govt High School Damel where the political activists joined the JUI. Those who addressed the conference included former JUI Chitral general secretary Mufti Mahmoodul Hassan, JUI Tehsil Arandu chief Maulana Fazal Rasheed, general secretary Abdul Majeed, former chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Arandu Maulana Ahmed Faqir, religious scholar Maulana Abdul Hai, JUI tehsil Drosh chief Maulana Inamul Haq, Maulana Amin Ahmed, Qari Mubarak Khan, and district Salaar Salahuddin Toofan. They said another leader of the JUI, Mufti Mehmood, stopped inclusion of un-Islamic sections in the constitution of Pakistan. Besides, the unanimous passage of the 1993 constitution was also made possible through the efforts of Mufti Mehmood. When matters such as making non-Muslims as the president, homosexuality and issuance of liquor permits came to parliament for legalization, JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman stopped their way with the help of his handful of party members and saved Pakistan from becoming a secular state, they added. These were some of the works due to which the people of Damel decided to join the JUI, they added. The speakers said that joining the JUI by such a large number of people at one time showed the popularity of the party and the people of Arandu’s love with Islam. ]]>
