CHITRAL, Jan 25: The police here said that the death toll from the traffic accident near Dalum Gol reached 10 as five more injured passengers died at the DHQ hospital on Saturday afternoon.
The police said the taxi jeep (AD-5514) was coming to Chitral carrying 11 people from the Shogram village of Mulkhow to settle a dispute between two families settled in Bakrabad when it fell into a ravine near Dalum Gol. As a result, five of the passengers died on the spot while six others were injured and shifted to the DHQ hospital and the Rural Health Centre at Koghuzi. Later, five of the injured also died in the hospital in Chitral, taking the death toll to 10, DPO Chitral Ghulam Husaain confirmed while talking to ChitralToday. The accident occurred when the driver could not control the vehicle which skidded off the road due to absence of a protection wall.
The deceased included Javed Ahmed, Sardar Zaman, headmaster Govt High School Charun; Ahmed, Farman Akbar, driver Wazir Ahmed, Shogram, they died on the spot. While Faliqus, a retired headmaster, Farhatullah, DM, retired Subedar Major Gul Ahmed, Nasir, Muhammad Nadir alias Samlati of Shogram died later at the hospital. Another injured, Saeedulalh, CT, of Shogram, is being treated at the DHQ hospital and according to the doctors he is out of danger. ]]>
