ANP senator accused of inducting outsiders in Golen Gol project

CHITRAL, Jan 5: The residents of Koh union council have expressed their anguish over the appointment of people from other districts on class-IV posts in the under-construction Golen Gol hydropower project. zahidIn a meeting chaired by naib district chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Chitral, Maulana Akhunzada Rahmatullah, the residents alleged that Senator Zahid Khan of Awami National Party had influenced the ‘illegal’ appointments. They said it was the right of the locals to be appointed against the lowest grade employees in the power project, adding the senator had usurped the rights of the Chitarlis which would not be tolerated by them. They said unemployment was rising in the district as there were almost no private sector jobs in the area and in such a grim situation, the appointment of non-locals against the low graded posts in the power project had greatly disappointed them. The residents reminded the chairman of WAPDA Syed Raghib Abbas Shah that during his visit to the project area last month he had announced to fill all the non-technical posts by the locals and now outsiders have appointed in sheer violation of his words. They warned that if the appointments of the peons and watchmen made at the behest of the ANP senator were not cancelled forthwith, the people of the project area would oust them by force. They made it clear that not a single person from the other districts would be tolerated appointed on non-technical posts in the project .–Zahiruddin  ]]>
