The petition had been jointly filed by the president of district bar association Alamzeb advocate and president of Peshawar High Court bar association’s Chitral circuit bench chapter Abdul Wali Khan. The representatives of National Highway Authority and Sambu also appeared before the court. The court took stern notice of the case of closing the tunnel for the residents of Chitral on the grounds of special rights of people and observed that in the absence of any other route connecting Chitral and other parts of the country in the winter season except the tunnel, it was an infringement in the rights of half a million people of Chitral. The court ordered to keep the tunnel opened for the public on alternate days till March 31 next year.–Zahiruddin]]>
