Injured markhor recovering after hospitalization
CHITRAL: A Kashmiri markhor, which was hit and injured by a falling boulder in the Toshi game reserve, has been taken to the veterinary hospital by wildlife department officials where it is fast recovering. Divisional forest officer of wildlife, Imtiaz Hussain said the five-year-old male markhor sustained injuries on legs. The animal was taken to the veterinary hospital from where it was shifted to the compound of the divisional offices to give it a natural habitat, he said, adding the animal was recovering fast.He said markhor was healthy and was of trophy size and its death could have caused heavy loss to both the local community and the government as the hunting permit had already been sold at 92,000 dollars, this year.–Zahiruddin]]>
