Indoor games organized as part of Chitral festival

CHITRAL, Oct 6: Though the ongoing Chitral festival has not drawn expected public interest, the organizers are going with their plan to present a variety of spots, games and other recreational facilities to the people of the valley. And this has also given an opportunity not only to players of traditional games like polo, football etc., but also those who usually kill their time by enjoying Luddu, Cerum, chess and other indoor games. In this sense, the district government’s efforts are appreciable for it has at least gone ahead with the plan to organize the event after over a decade. And we believe that the event should be made an annual feature so that not only the people, especially the youth, are provided an opportunity to have such recreational facilities but also Chitral’s traditional games and sports can be promoted and preserved. The indoor games are being held at the hall of Govt centennial model high school for boys under the supervision of assistant commissioner Mazhar Ali Shah.]]>
