Red alert but no dengue case in Chitral
CHITRAL, Sept 21: No case of dengue fever has been reported in the Chitral which is being feared due to its immediacy with the dengue-affected districts of Dir and Swat. Medical superintendent of DHQ hospital Chitral Dr Noorul Islam told this correspondent that red alert had been declared in the hospital to cope with any positive case of dengue fever. He said a ward of the hospital has been declared as isolation ward for dengue fever where all kind arrangements existed in the eventuality of a case. He said every case of simple fever patient coming to the hospital was tested for dengue virus but no positive case had been found. Dr. Islam added that there was a potential threat of the disease to enter the district as the people from Chitral traveled to and from the dengue affected districts of Upper Dir, Lower Dir and Swat.–Zahiruddin]]>
