Modern housing scheme for Chitral promised

PESHAWAR, Sept 8: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Sunday said that a modern housing scheme would be started at Kagh Lasht, Chitral. ptiTalking to office-bearers of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf from district Chitral here, the chief minister said that work on the 40,000 square kanal housing scheme would start this year. He said that the local residents would be provided cheap residential plots in the housing scheme. PTI woman MPA Fozia Bibi was also in attendance. Mr Khattak said that such housing schemes would also be initiated in other districts to provide cheap residential facilities to people across the province. In this connection, he said 54,000 kanals of land had already been acquired near Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed Interchange. Similarly, he said the government was also looking for suitable land for initiating such housing schemes in Hazara region. The chief minister said that with the support of Sarhad Rural Support Programme small hydel power stations would be established in Malakand and Hazara divisions, which would provide electricity to the people at 50 per cent less than the Wapda rates Furthermore, he said several tourism promotional projects would be initiated in the tourists’ attractive areas of Malakand and Hazara.
