Afghan intruders scared away from Bumburate valley

CHITRAL, July 22: The Afghan criminals from Nooristan reportedly entered the pasture of Bumburate valley to snatch cattle but fled after the arrival of security forces. Confirming the news, Hassanullah, the station house officer of Bumburate, said the Kalash shepherds saw a group of 20 Afghans entering the pasture and informed the police.

When the security forces rushed to the area after receiving the report, the Afghans had fled back to their country, said the SHO.
He added that due to the proximity of the area to Nooristan, theft of goats by the Afghans had increased. The SHO said that to effectively check the intruders from entering the area, security had been augmented in the sensitive points through which they can enter the area. It is to be recalled that during the month of Ramazan last year, the desperadoes had taken away seven hundred goats from the Bumburate pasture to Nooristan. They had also abducted a Kalash herdsman whose headless body was later found on the Pak-Afghan border.–Zahiruddin]]>
