Iftikhar gets Musharraf's nod to sit in treasury benches

CHITRAL, May 30: MNA-elect from Chitral Iftikharuddin on Thursday said former president Pervez Musharaf has allowed him to sit in the treasury benches in the best interest of Chitral. Talking to this correspondent on telephone from Islamabad after his meeting with Musharraf, who heads the All Pakistan Muslim league (APML), the MNA-elect said the president had taken the decision when he told him that the people of Chitral will be at the losing end if he sits in the opposition. Iftikhar hailed the ‘bold’ decision of the party chief allowing him to sit in the treasury bench despite his sharp differences with Nawaz Sharif. Mr Musharraf ha already allowed the party MPA from Chitral Ghulam Muhammad to support the PTI government in the KPK assembly.– Zahiruddin]]>

  1. Before taking permission from Musharraf, you should wait till the government invites you to join it. It is against our culture to become an uninvited guest. And also, it is not the Nawaz Sharif of 1990s when he used to beg every member of NA to join him and save his government in the number game and in return they got cabinet slots.
