CHITRAL, May 8: A number of local leaders and activists of different political parities announced their decision to join the PML-N here on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference at the local press club, Fazal Rahim Advocate, Mohammad Wazir, Shaukatul Mulk, Kausar Chughtai advocate along with Mohammad Younus, the PML-N candidate for NA-32, said the party led by Nawaz Sharif was poised to form the next government in the country.
They said the young generation liked Nawaz Sharif because he is the only leader who can bring a revolution in the industry and trade in Pakistan. They said Nawaz Sharif is a patriotic leader and after coming to power he will launch different developmental projects in Chitral. They also said the road to Tajikistan and establishment of a dry port in Chitral was their first priority. Besides, eradication of unemployment, social injustices and poverty would be taken up on a priority basis. They said addressing a public gathering in Peshawar Nawaz Sharif had promised that Chitral will be promoted if his party formed the next government. They said those who were creating the propaganda that Nawaz Sharif did not like Chitral should realize that the PML-N chief was sincere in changing the fate of the backward valley.
They expressed their great concern over the APML Chitral candidates’ insistence on contesting the elections despite the fact that their central leadership had decided to boycott the polls. They said that a female advocate from Murree was called to Chitral to present her as a special envoy of Pervez Musharraf and the APML candidates wanted to mislead the Chitrali people by claiming that Musharraf had allowed them to take part in the elections.—GH Farooqui
