Kalash valleys: NGO elects office-bearers

KALASH, April 21: Speakers at a board of directors meeting here highlighted the achievements of the Kalash People’s Development Network (KPDN). They said the KPDN was the only organization in the Kalash valleys which was making progress in social sector since its inception in 2005. A press release issued on Thursday said the KPDN’s board of directors election held at KPDN head office in Mumuret village nominated 13 members for the new board of directors. “We don’t want selection we want election,’’ said Luke Rehmat during a briefing session of the meeting. The BoD consisted of three members each from the three valleys of Kalash – Mumuret, Rukmu and Biriu. They included Unat Baig from Biriu valley, Gumaira from Mumuret valley and Gul Nazar from Rukmu valley.]]>
