Senior citizens defeat youth in tug of war

CHITRAL, April 2:  A tug of war tournament concluded at Singor on Monday. Some 16 teams participated in the tournament and the final match was played between Singor A and Singor B teams.  

Singor A defeated the B team. A team comprised senior citizens while the B team consisted of young men.  Shahzada Amanur Rehman was chief guest on the occasion.

Addressing the public gathering, he said that Chitra’s people were fond of games but unfortunately there was no public stadium in Chitral. He said he was contesting election from PK-89 and if he was elected he will join the ruling party to get get fund and will construct a public stadium at Chitral He announced Rs6,000 for the winner and Rs4000 for the running-up up team and Rs5000 for the organizing committee.

Earlier, Dr. Wiqar of Relief International also spoke on the occasion.—GH Farooqui
