ECP to decide about interim PM
ISLAMABAD, March 22: Parliamentary Committee formed to appoint a caretaker prime minister failed to reach consensus as the last session of the committee concluded inconclusively. Talking to media following the meeting, Khursheed Shah said that the decision regarding appointment of the interim premiere would be decided by the Election Commission of Pakistan. ‘It is very unfortunate that we failed to reach the consensus to appoint caretaker PM”, he said. Another member of the committee Mehtab Abbasi said the committee tried its best to perform a constitutional duty, however, he added that it is not the failure of the politicians.Former law minister Farooq H Naek said that after adoption of 18th constitutional amendment it was the first experience to appoint caretaker setup. He said that the committee should have a right to include more names for deliberations. He further said that the existing flaws would be overcome in future.]]>
