Spring sports festival beings in Chitral

CHITRAL, March 22: A youth spring season sports festival started at the Chitral parade ground on Friday. Nadir Khwaja, a senior journalist and president of the sports writers association of Khyber Pahtonkhwa, was chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the event after kicking the ball. Besides, the chairman of Chitral Community Development Network (CCDN) Abdul Ghafar Lal was also president on the occasion. Talking to chitraltoday.net, the general secretary of the district football association, Hussain Ahmed, said 12 teams of football, five teams of tug of war and other teams would participate in the festival. The first match was played between Balach and Malak Saad Shaheed Football Team in which Balach won the match with five to three goals. A large number of spectators were present on the occasion.—G.H.
