Shafiq ul-Mulk, 26, is hopeful that Pakistan Tehri-i-Insaf (PTI) would allot him a ticket for the provincial assembly seat of PK-89, lower Chitral. PROFILE: Mr Shafiq was born in the Birbolak village of Broze on June 6, 1986. He got his early education from Qutaiba Public School Chitral and did his FSc from Sayurj Public School. He then moved to Islamabad and got a BBA degree in human resource management from the Federal Urdu University in 2008. A year later, he also completed his MBA from the same university. Currently, he is at the final stages of completing an MS degree in human resource management. Though very young, Mr Shafiq has already established his political credential. He was elected president of the Chitral Students Welfare Organization (CSWO) Islamabad for the year 2008-2011. During this period, young Shafiq actively worked for students welfare and highlighted their issues at all forums. He also has the credit of being the founding member of the Insaf Students Federation Pakistan. One of his projects titled “Efficient utilization of funds allocated for members of provincial and national assemblies in all the districts” was highly appreciated when he presented it to the PTI leadership. In an interview with chitraltoday.net in Islamabad, Mr Shafiq said in the history of Pakistan no political party had stressed the utilization of youth human resource for the development of the country. The PTI, he added, was the first party which not only had given special emphasize on the development of the youth but also decided to allocate 25 per cent of the party tickets during the forthcoming elections to the youth. He said the decision of the PTI would give the youth of the country a chance to come forward and lead the country. A real change can come only if the youth are given a chance to lead the nation, he added. He said the PTI initiative held special significance for Chitral, where the young generation was not only educated but also wanted to put their share in the development of their area. Mr Shafiq said that a large number of people from all segments of society in Chitral had welcomed his decision to take part in the forthcoming elections. He also said that the youth of the area would be instrumental in moulding public opinion to bring a real change through the ballot.]]>

A very smart move by a particular tribe to hijack PTI in Chitral. If the gentleman happens to be the relative of Prince Mohiuddin, forget any change.
