Teachers' adjustment order withdrawn

CHITRAL, March 8: The district education officer (DEO) of Chitral, Siraj Mohammad, has ordered withdrawal of teachers’ adjustment order in different schools made by his deputy during his absence in the district. The adjustments of the teachers of different cadres were made by the deputy DEO Ihsanul Haq after the introduction of the new service structure as the DEO was in Saudi Arabia to perform umra. The teachers had started protest against the anomalies and refused to report to their stations they had been posted to after their promotions and most of the schools were reportedly without teachers after their opening on March 1 after winter vacations. The teachers had accused the deputy DEO of favouritism in the adjustment. they alleged taht the deputy EDO had posted his near and dear ones in their nearest stations while the others were dislocated from their home stations. The DEO took notice of the anomalies and ordered the inclusion of the president of the All Primary Teachers Association, Mohammad Ashraf, in the revision process. The parents have expressed their strong reservations against the absence of teachers from the schools leading to wastage of the precious time of their children and have demanded enquiry against the officer for indulging in malpractice.–Zahiruddin  ]]>
