PPP workers seek ticket for ex-nazim

CHITRAL, March 1: The leaders of the youth and student wings of Pakistan’s People’s Party, Chitral, have asked the high-ups to award party ticket to the former tehsil nazim Sartaj Ahmed Khan for the provincial assembly constituency PK-89. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the president of People’s Youth Organisation Qazi Waqar Iqbal and chairman of People’s Students Federation Farooq Azam said he (Sartaj) will win with thumping majority if given party ticket. They warned that the party will suffer electoral defeat if the party tickets were awarded in utter disregard of the wishes and aspirations of the party workers in Chitral. They said lessons should be leant from the past when the party was defeated despite numerical majority. He said that the candidate imposed from the province or centre will be rejected by the party workers as has been practiced in the past.–Zahiruddin]]>
