Policeman accused of occupying poor man's land

CHITRAL, Feb 1: Former Member National Assembly (MNA) Abdul Akbar, Ameeruddin and Abdul Latif, the president of PTI, have condemned Chitral police for allegedly occupying a piece of land owned by a poor man.   Addressing a press conference here, they said the land near Sabzi Mandi Chitral was sold in 2004 to a local person but the same was again sold to DSP Shamsur Rehman by one Ataullah in 2013, which they said was illegal. They said Ataullah and the DSP wanted to occupy the land illegally. However,  Ataullah denied these allegations during another press conference. He said he ahd sold his own land to the DSP which he had purchased from one Khan Mohammad Umar of Jang Bazar. He said the original documents were kept by Mohammad Umar because he (Ataullah) owed him a loan of Rs300,000. He said the same land was sold to Abu Salih for a land-curser which  was seized by police because that was declared a stolen vehicle and thus he reoccupied his land from Abu Salih and sold it to Shamsur Rehman. Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner Chitral has ordered an inquiry in the matter. Ataullah said Maulana Abdul Akbar was accusing him of  selling this land again and again which was baseless. He said due to his absence, some group had sold this land to a different group and on his arrival he reoccupied his land. He said he had sold this land to DSP Shamsur Rehman and the latter possessed all the  documents.—GH Farooqui]]>
