Singor wins the war!

CHITRAL, Dec 12:  Tug of war is a famous and popular game of Chitral and when this game is organized between the elderly and young people, its enjoyment increases manifold. 

A similar tug of war match was contested between the teams of Singor and Faizabad here. The event was organized by the District Youth Club in collaboration with the Aga Khan Rural Support Program. Mehtar-e-Chitral Fateh ul Mulk Ali Nasir was chief guest on the occasion.

After a thrilling contest, the Singor team defeated Faizabad in the first half and scored and won the match in the second attempt too. The chief guest while speaking on the occasion announced 11,000 rupees for the winner and Rs5,000 for the runner-up team. He stressed upon the players to maintain their best civilization and continue such fruitful activities which is best for physical and mental fitness.

At last, the chief guest distributed trophies, cups and awards among the players. Earlier, the youth participated in a 100 meters long race competition. The players also presented folk dance on the tunes of Chitrali drums and folk music. A large number of people participated in the final match of the tug of war.
