KIU closed to avoid clash
GILGIT, Nov 30: The management of Karakuram International University (KIU) closed the faculties for a period of nine days to avoid any untoward incident as tension increased among groups of students over some issues. “University management was trying to remove misconception between two groups of students but they did not listen to us and we were left with no option other than to close university so that there should not be any kind of violence,” a spokesman of the university said. He said during the period of closure the university management would again try to convince the groups of students to withdraw from their demands which could ignite unrest in the area. The spokesman said if they donot come to terms they would be taken to task according to books of law and matter would be forwarded to law enforcement agencies to tackle the situation. “We did our best to not disturb the studies of the student but closing university for the sake of law and order was the dire need of hour” spokesman added.]]>
