PM's show-off at Lowari Tunnel likely

CHITRAL, Nov 13: Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is likely to visit the site of Lowari tunnel project on Nov 15 to inaugurate its second phase. [caption id="attachment_5635" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Raja Pervez Ashraf"][/caption] The work on the project had been abandoned since the inception of the present government for want of funds.  The relevant authorities including district administration, however, did not confirm the visit of the prime minister. A source in National Highway Authority said the second phase of the project means its conversion into road tunnel which was basically rail tunnel as per original design of the 8.5 kms long tunnel connecting Chitral with the rest of the country.
