Speaking on the occasion, Senator Afrasyab Khattak said the provincial government had resolved to make Chitral a model district of the province. He said Chitral was like a beautiful flower in the bouquet of KPK. He said his government had the honour of including all local languages in the syllabus after which Khowar would get a new era of promotion. Mr Khattak said that ANP had long history of service for peace in the region and Bacha Khan spent his whole life for the cause of peace and non-violence. Today, some elements are trying to sabotage the peace but the government is committed to eliminating them through the support of the peace-loving people. He claimed that his government restored peace in Malakand division after fighting the terror and other anti-peace elements. The ANP leader said that during their five-year-long rule, the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) government could not suspend NATO supply even for five minutes but the ANP government demonstrated its writ by closing down the NATO supply to Afghanistan through the province. Addressing the gathering, Syed Muzaffar Hussain Jan, the district president of the ANP, said the party had become a popular force in Chitral. The credit for the popularity of the ANP goes to the energetic chief minister Haider Khan Hoti who during the last four years visited Chitral seven time, he added. He said the number of development projects launched in Chitral during the ANP government had no parallel in the history of the area. After the public meeting, the ministers and other ANP leaders separately met delegations of youths and traders of Drosh, Ashret, Kalash valleys and the paraglider association and assured that all their problems would be resolved. Later, the provincial minister Hussain Babak attended a function at the Govt High School Drosh and said all issues being faced by teachers and students in the district would be resolved.]]>
