Save PPP from defeat: workers ask leadership

CHITRAL, Nov 9: The leaders of People’s Amn Committee have demanded of the provincial and central leadership of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to reorganize the party in Chitral to save it from defeat in the forthcoming general elections. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Aneesud Din, Ghairat Ullah, Abdul Nawaz Khan, Ahmed Jan and others said the district leadership had utterly failed to organize the party. They said that looters and opportunists had hijacked the party and were using it for their personal objectives while the sincere and devoted workers remained in oblivion and some of them were leaving the party as well. They asked the party leadership to award party ticket to the workers from Chitral town as no person has ever been nominated for the national or provincial assembly to a worker from this area. The PPP workers complained that despite being district headquarters, the Chitral town was short of basic amenities of life because all the elected representatives preferred their respective areas elected on PPP ticket. They appealed the provincial president of the party to dissolve the district organization of the party in Chitral and reorganize it as per the aspirations of the party workers.–Zahiruddin]]>
