Rs157 million approved for Boroghil Road

PESHAWAR, Oct 17: Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has approved Rs157 million for improvement and widening of Mastuj-Borghil Road in Upper Chitral. The project will be executed as a non-Annual Development Programme (ADP) scheme, it has been learnt. The 135 kilometres long road from Mastuj to the Boroghil valley in the extreme north of Chitral bordering the Wakhan corridor of Afghanistan will be completed in two phases by the Army Engineering Corpse. According to official sources,, out of the amount Rs75 million will be provided to the AEC till the end of this month for its first phase and the remaining Rs82 million for the second phase will be released to the army engineers by April 2013. It merits a mention here that widening and improvement of this road was long-standing demand of the people of upper Chitral and its completion will make better travel facilities and opportunities of business and trade activities in the most remote and backward Yarkhun valley.–APP ]]>

    We, the residents of Yarkhoon valley, highly appreciate the govt of KPK, CM Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and all those who directly or indirectly contributed to sanctioning of this vital project. Thanks a lot to all of you. At the same time, we also HOPE that the AEC will execute the project considering it as a national responsibility, not just an ordinary contract, as far as its quality and timely completion are concerned. Insha Allah, after completion, this road will enhance the economic activity in Chitral.

    Wow ,great news from the CM of KPK.The masses of upper Yarkhoon, Broghol area were facing a lot of trouble for being without all weather jeebable track in this developed era, this also remained one of the main reasons behind their abject poverty.
    Now the masses, local leaders, intelligentia from that area working outside Chitral must keep close eye on its implementation stages.
