Chitral: primary teachers hail govt for upgradation

CHITRAL, Oct 7: Primary schoolteachers here thanked the provincial government for fulfilling their long-awaited demand of upgradation from basic pay scale five to 15.

At an annual convention held under the All-Primary Teachers Association, the speakers said this was the only government that fulfilled their promise of recognizing the status of the primary schoolteachers. Provincial president of APTA Malik Khalid Khan was chief guest on the occasion while the convention was presided over by Mohammad Ashraf, the president APTA Chitral district. The speakers on the occasion said now the teachers should also discharge their duties with more dedication and hard work.

They said though the primary schoolteachers faced problems due to shortage of classrooms and staff, even than they were duty-bound to work hard and honesty for the betterment of the students. the representatives of the teachers, however, said they would continue their struggle for more facilities through coordinated efforts.—GH Farooqui
