Chitral rally condemns anti-Islam film

CHITRAL, Sept 21: A complete strike was held in Chitral on Friday in connection with the protest day against the blasphemous film produced in the US. Nazir Hussain"][/caption] A big rally was held at the Parade Ground where local representatives  of almost all religious and political parties and civil society organizations spoke against the film and condemned the US government for its failure to take action against the producers of the movie. They said the anti-Islam film had hurt the sentiments of the Muslim the world over. Those who spoke on the occasion included Mohammad Hakim Advocate of the PPP, Khursheed Ahmed, president of the paramedics association Chitral, Mufti Ateeq, the chairman of the district Seerat conference, and Qadir Aman, general secretary of All Chitral Employees Sssociation. DCO Rehmatullah Wazir also addressed the rally which was arranged by the Seerat conference. All markets and other business centres and government and private institutions remained closed as the government had announced a public holiday on Friday. Sources said a large number of local leaders along with activists and workers of major religious parties had already left Chitral for Peshawar to take part in the protests rallies by their respective parties there.  ]]>
