Teacher training concludes

CHITRAL, July 27: A certificate distribution ceremony was held at Eagle Eyes Education Institution, Dulomos, for 18 teachers after they completed 20 days of early childhood development training. Dr Mir Afzal Tajik, the head of Professional Development Center Aga Khan University, was the chief guest on the occasion. Ms Maryam, an educationist from Canada, said in the past we used to enroll our children after seven years of age but that was wrong and according to latest research mental level of children grow from zero to four years. She said the program was introduced by Canadian organization in Chitral to render ECD training to teachers for imparting quality education to children. Some participants also expressed their views and said they had learnt from the training to teach their students by playing not by beating or torturing them because their mental growth stop due to aggression. Dr Mir Afzal Tajik said mostly we enroll our children in schools after 5 or 7 years and they learn more wrong things during this period so a teacher first remove these from their minds and then teach them. So we should enroll our children in very early age. He said the concept of ECD had been introduced four years ago and it was very fruitful.  Later, the chief guest distributed certificates among the successful participants.–G.H. Farooqui]]>
