Taliban attack repulsed

CHITRAL, July 18: Taliban from Afghanistan side attacked a security forces checkpost at Langorbut near in Arandu on Tuesday.

But the security forces retaliated and killed six of them, said the ISPR. However, there was no casualty from the security forces side.

A spokesman for the ISPR at Swat told this scribe that some terrorists attacked the security forces checkpost but our security forces were red alert and killed six of the extremists. He said the attackers left the six bodies behind and fled from the scene.

It may be mentioned that in a similar attack on August 27, 2011, more than 22 security forces were killed by terrorists when they infiltrated the border.—G.H. Farooqui
