LHVs without salaries for five months

CHITRAL: The lady health workers and supervisors under the National Health Programme have demanded of the federal government to release their salaries stuck up for the last five months. Talking to the local media persons here, their leaders including Zahida Muzafar, Shahina Mahmud, Samina Sardar and Sahira Banu lamented that they were deprived of all the facilities which a government servant enjoys and their services are yet to be regularized despite working for over 17 years. They said that they were being paid only 7,000 rupees as monthly salary but its payment is never regular and they are made to wait for months. They said that they were discharging their duties in the remote areas of Chitral and provided healthcare facilities to the people where hospital and doctors are available.–Zahiruddin  ]]>
